Being faithful includes preparing for problems not ignoring them

This blog contains my imperfect exegesis of scripture and even more imperfect observations on life from the point of view of a Christian Prepper.

The combination of two labels one that implies a life by faith with a label that implies a life focused on being prepared needs a bit of explanation. But it isn't really that difficult when you consider the following:
1) Faithful living means living faithful to the entire Scripture
2) Preparedness is an act of faith when performed in line with the commands of Scripture: both in the methods and the motivations.

The problems, I think, stem from a definition of FAITH solely based on one passage of Scripture found in Luke 10, and the definition of PREPAREDNESS based solely on another passage of Scripture Luke 12:16-20. In our modern age Christians seem prone to clipping out a passage and taking it to heart without examining it, and fitting it into a larger understanding of Scripture, one based on the whole Word of God.

Americans and Canadians have gotten away with this in recent years because of the unprecedented level of prosperity our nations have enjoyed. In effect we haven't had to live with the trials of our forebears of 50 years ago, nor the trials of our non-North American brethren today.

This humble blog is written with the hope that readers will develop a more integrated and complete understanding of Scripture and a fuller relationship with Jesus Christ their Lord. And in doing so are better prepared to face the trials ahead for themselves and their charges, their communities, and their nation.
